Despite having grown up watching my dad work with wood, I didn't start building until 2014. My very first piece of furniture was an enormous bookcase that I built for my wife as a Christmas present. Using only the most basic of tools, I constructed an 8-foot tall, 4-foot-wide bookcase that (almost) held all of her books!

Upon completing it, I realized how much I love and enjoy working with wood and building a piece of furniture that is attractive and will last for generations. I have expanded my repertoire to include sofa tables, living room sets, bedroom suites, and cabinetry, just to name a few.

I started the business in Georgia, where we grew up, as Georgia Handbuilt Furniture in 2014. Our family moved to Juneau, Alaska in 2020 during the pandemic and we rebranded to create Alaskan Custom Furniture, L.L.C.
